Yeah, I know the pain of people not appreciating black and white work.
Again, if you put some pinks in the intestines, the monsters gums and a few other key spots, it could liven this up a little (not that I think its not lively, but for the "other" judges)

You should try adding some pink fleshy accents in a few spots on all your stuff like this.
Pink, fleshy and wet/shiny helps make things look even more disgusting.

tentacles are my fav!

I only gave you a 8 on this because (for me) I feel like I want to see the legs in the water a little wavy and distorted. Maybe you tried this and it doesn't work for you, but if you haven't, give it a shot!
But again, I love the rendering, the little details of the sea shells on its belly, and the little kid in the Lock Ness monster tube, classic.

I've been meaning to fix the legs for a while. As you said, it should look wavy and distorted, as does real water. Thanks for not only pointing out the mistake, but elaborating it. Now I can finally fix it :)

Nice rendering, Spectacular color scheme, the fish and the cat/bird creature really pop out, without eliminating the background, and the background compliments the figures so well. Did you go to art school? Self taught? Thinking about school? Get back at me. Stop by and see some of my work as well.

I'm planning on attending an art college after high school. I'm mostly self taught, but I took a painting class this year for the first time, helped tremendously with backgrounds.
